PURPOSE:To obtain a peak position detection circuit suitable for reading out a waveform recorded in an accumulator tube and for digitizing the waveform. CONSTITUTION:When a signal shown by the B in the diagram is generated by a digitizing control signal generator 13, a vertical sweep signal indicated by C is generated by a sweep generator 14 and the scanning of a target 1 is made by a beam 2 so that a signal shown by D, for instance, is obtained in the output stage of an amplifier 4. The voltage for comparison rises in following the build-up of the pulse shown by D and becomes higher than the pulse voltage when the pulse reaches the peak at t6. When the output of a comparator 5 is reversed to indicate a lower level and the moment that a capacitor 19 ceases to charge, a holding circuit 17 operates, holding the computed value of a counter 16 at t6. At t9 the digitizing control signal shown by the B changes to the low level whereby a gate 35 is opened and the computed value held is sent out to an output line. This computed value is a digital data indicating the time the peak has occurred on the basis of t1. |
