In a hydraulic transmission with a pump and a hydraulic motor connected to the latter by a hydraulic circuit, the pump and the motor being essentially non-adjustable hydraulic units, continuous variability with a high efficiency in the part-load range and low actuating forces is achieved by the fact that the hydraulic circuit is provided with a bypass line (11) which bypasses the hydraulic motor (5) and in which is arranged a hydrodynamic turbine (12), preferably in the form of a free jet turbine, provided with an adjustable nozzle (13).
