PURPOSE:To obtain an x-ray tube with a good radiation effect whose total exposure dose can be reduced. CONSTITUTION:High voltage is applied between anode and cathode sections. The thermal electron generated in the filament of an electron gun element 14 is guided to collide with a target 10 a penetration hole by controlling its collision route through the grid of the same electron gun element 14 and its deflection yoke 13. The colliding electron generates x rays at the section which is near by the A side in the figure of the inner wall in the penetration hole of the target 10, and the generated x rays become almost parallel ones as they pass through the minute penetration hole along the direction from A to B and are emitted from the B side. Thus their diffusion into an environment and exposure dose are reduced. The heat at the target 10 caused by the x-ray generation is emitted outside an x-ray tube along an I-type ring 11 which supports the target 10 externally. As a result, the external part of the ring 11 can directly be cooled by a coolant. |
