Adapter piece for plastic cannulas and vein catheters

An adapter piece for the sealing connection to rigid tube nozzles or flexible tubes provided with connection cones can be connected to a plastic cannula or a vein catheter and has a passage channel in which there is mounted a valve disc which shuts off the latter and is made of an elastomeric material with at least one central slot. Behind the connecting region, shaped like an inner cone, of the adapter piece a body provided with a central passage opening is guided so as to be longitudinally displaceable to a limited extent in such a way that it rests with its front side in front of the flat valve disc in its retracted position and passes through the disc at least partially in its advanced position in order to expose the slot. In order to ensure reliable, damage-free opening of the valve disc even when the dimensions of the adapter piece or the connecting cone differ from the target dimensions, the body is provided on its rear side with a region shaped like an inner cone whose inner smaller diameter adjoins the channel forming the passage opening and the diameter of whose middle part corresponds to the usual, front diameter of the connecting cones. <IMAGE>
