PURPOSE:To prepare the titled compound, in high yield, by the thermal decomposition of a carbamic acid ester in a specific solvent, in the presence of a catalyst containing the copper-group, zinc-group, aluminum-group, carbon-group except C, and titanium-group element and their oxides, etc. CONSTITUTION:An isocyanate is prepared by the thermal decomposition of a carbamic acid ester in a solvent inert to the isocyanate and essentially non-solvent of the catalyst (e.g. hexane, heptane, etc.) preferably in an inert gas atmosphere at 100-350 deg.C, in the presence of a catalyst containing one or more materials selected from the elements of the copper-group, zinc-group, aluminum- group, carbon group except C and titanium-group of the periodic table, their oxides or sulfides. EFFECT:The catalyst can be easily separated from the product, and the production of by-products can be suppressed. USE:Raw material of polyurethane and carbamate pesticides. |
