The invention relates to a staircase which has a portion in the form of a half-turn newel-type spiral staircase and a plurality of mutually parallel treadboards (1 to 14) which are connected at the top and the bottom thereof in each case. The treadboards, arranged in a spiral, are fastened on an upright (15), passing over the entire height of the staircase, by means of high, adjustably clamped clamping carriers (26). The mutually parallel treadboards are fastened, by means of clamping carriers (26), in a vertically adjustable manner on parallel, vertical tubes (23, 24, 25) which are aligned with one another. Owing to this type of construction, the staircase can be easily assembled on the building site and, moreover, adapted to the structural-body dimensions which often deviate somewhat from the building plans. <IMAGE>
