A film (3), obtained by peeling from a polyethylene disc, for ski coverings is post-treated so as to have less undulation. To this end the film (3) is folded in a stretching device (9) over a stretching edge (10) at an angle which is equal to or greater than the edge angle. The device suitable for this has, upstream and downstream of the stretching device (9), guide devices (5, 14) for the film (3) which allow the fold angle of the film (3) at the stretch edge (10) to be accurately determined. <IMAGE>
