In the case of a charging controller (1) for electrical storage heaters (2), which produces a switching-on duration signal (which is dependent on the external temperature) for an auxiliary radiator (8) which is arranged in storage heaters (2) and, together with the residual heat of the store (3) acts on a charging regulator (6) for the radiator (4) of the storage heater (2), a resistor (10), which is dependent on the external temperature, is connected to one input (11) of a comparator (12). It is intended to specify a simple circuit having mutually independent adjustment capabilities for the switching thresholds. For this purpose, a sawtooth-waveform voltage is applied to the second input (13) of the comparator (12), the upper value of which sawtooth-waveform voltage is adjustable by means of a first potentiometer (P1) and the lower value of which is adjustable by means of a second potentiometer (P2). Each adjustable sawtooth-voltage waveform is within the voltage range of the temperature-dependent resistor (10). Mains-voltage compensation can then also be achieved in a simple manner. <IMAGE>
