A polarographic sensor employing the limiting diffusion current principle is provided for the determination of the lambda equivalence point in exhaust gases. It comprises a solid-electrolyte platelet with an anode applied to one side. In order to unambiguously assign the lambda value to the measured flow, the cathode on the other side of the platelet is split into two part electrodes which intermesh in a comb-like manner. One of these is polarised at -850 mV and the other at -100 to 700 mV. The cathodes are covered by a diffusion barrier in the form of a porous ceramic coating. <IMAGE> |
