The invention relates to a process for producing solderable and enamelable semifinished products (wrought materials, blanks) or finished parts made of an Al-Mn alloy which in the completely recrystallised state has a tensile strength of at least 150 N/mm<2> and a tensile yield strength of at least 80 N/mm<2>. A known process (German Patent No. P2754673) does achieve, for an Al-Mn alloy containing at most 0.2 % of Mg, a tensile strength of 150 N/mm<2>, but not a tensile yield strength of 80 N/mm<2>. This material is therefore unsuitable for various fields of application. According to the invention, the required values can be achieved if, for an essentially constant alloy composition, from 0.25 to 0.65 % of magnesium are additionally provided and furthermore the alloy contents, in % by weight, are tailored as follows: Si >/= 0.3 (2Mg + Fe + Mn + 1) Mn >/= 1.5 Fe Mn + Fe >/= 1.5 Mn + Si >/= 2.3, the semifinished products or finished parts being subjected to a final heat treatment for at least three minutes at over 450 DEG C. The diagram in accordance with Figure 1 depicts the strength values achieved as a function of the annealing temperature. <IMAGE>
