The novel D-homosteroids of the formula <IMAGE> in which R<6> represents hydrogen, chlorine, fluorine or methyl; X represents beta -hydroxymethylene or carbonyl; R<17a> represents hydroxyl or acyloxy and R<21> represents hydrogen, chlorine, fluorine, hydroxyl, acyloxy or a sulphate or phosphate radical, and the dashed 1, 2-bond is optional, and salts thereof are hormonally active. They can be prepared in a manner known per se.
