PURPOSE:To prevent the discharge of ink by making the amount of ink to be supplied to plural wires constant by a method in which a wire holding hole is provided on the upper part of the wire holder of a wire dot type printer, and the wire is contacted with the lower part of a recording medium. CONSTITUTION:Under a recording medium 2, wire holders 3 are arranged at a fixed interval in such a way that the upper part of them is tipped, and a holding hole 4 is formed at the tip. A wire 9 is held slidably in the holding hole 4 and also in the holding hole 8 of the rear wall 5a of an ink reservoir 5 and is touched by the lower part of the recording medium 2 when reciprocally moving in the vertical direction. In this case, since ink 6 in the ink reservoir 5 exudes by a capillary action from an aperture between the wire 9 and the wall of the holding hole 4 to the tip of the wire, no discharge of excessive ink from the holding hole 4 occurs. Also, even in case where plural holding holes 4 are arranged, uniform ink pressure is applied to each holding hole 4. |
