PURPOSE:To variably control the amount of heat to be transpoeted, by a heat transporting apparatus wherein valves are provided for opening and closing a chamber space of a pipe member having a heat receiving section and a radiation section. CONSTITUTION:When cooling water is allowed to flow through a cooling water channel 13, part of the cooling water flows via valve ports 20, 39 and housings 15, 35 into the pipe member 1. Due to this cooling water a float valve 16 is floated to close the valve port 20, and a float valve 36 is floated to close the valve port 39. When exhaust gas is allowed to flow through an exhaust pipe 8, its heat is transmitted to the cooling water in a bent tube 4, and is further transmitted in the form of convection to the cooling water in the pipe member 1 and the housings 15, 35. When the cooling water is heated to or above a predetermined temperature, an elastic vessel 42 in a heat sensitive valve 37 is enlarged to cut the communication of the cooling water channel 13 with a straight pipe 3. At the same time, a casing 29 of a heat sensitive actuator 28 is lowered, and a valve element 17 closes the valve port 25. |
