<p>Diphenylamines of formula (I): <CHEM> wherein R is methyl, ethyl, or n-propyl; each R<1> is independently bromo, chloro, or fluoro; R<2> is iodo, cyano, nitro, or trifluoromethyl; m is an integer of from 0 to 5; n is an integer of from 0 to 1; and the sum of m and n is an integer (1) when n is 0, from 1 to 5; and (2) when n is 1, from 1 to 3 subject to the further limitations that (1) not more than two R<1> groups represent bromo; (2) where R<2> is iodo, the iodo is located at the 4-position; (3) where R<2> is cyano, the cyano is located at the 3-, 4-, or 5-position; and (4) where R<2> is NO2, the NO2 is located at the 2-, 3-, 5-, or 6-position, are effective in controlling insects, arachnids and ectoparasites.</p> |
