Keypad comprising 7 keys 1-7 arranged so that 6 of the keys 1-6 are located around the middle key 7, thereby forming a figure of eight with 4 vertically oriented keys 1, 3, 4 and 6 and 3 horizontally oriented keys 2, 5 and 7. The key or keys that is/are not depressed forms the symbol which the depressed keys initiate. As a result it is possible to key 127 different symbols using no more than three fingers of the same hand, it being possible to activate up to three keys at a time with one finger. <IMAGE>
