PURPOSE:To change over effectively from loop control by a reservoir to loop control by a dancer roll by equalizing the tension applied to the dancer roll to the tension applied to the reservoir. CONSTITUTION:A reservoir 8 is mechanically locked with a relay contact 24 closed, 25 opened, and relay contracts 27, 29 closed, and a tension corresponding to a predetermined signal is applied to a dancer roll 4. From this status, the line prior to the reservoir 8 is decelerated and stopped, and the contact 24 is opened. When an accelerated operation is started again, the contact 24 is opened and 25 is closed, the contacts 27, 29 are opened, and the contact 28 is opened. Thereby, a reservoir tension setting signal 21 and a dancer roll speed compensation signal 7 are input to a dancer roll pressure converter 18, and the dancer roll 4 is controlled to stay at a predetermined position. As a result, the same tension is applied to the dancer roll 4 as that of the reservoir 8. |
