PURPOSE:To position an article which is carried on a conveyor, by temporarily stopping the article on the conveyor. CONSTITUTION:A work 1 is put on the upstream end of a conveyor 2 so that the work is conveyed with a moving member 5 by the forward movement of the conveyor. When the work 1 has passed through stoppers 9 and actuated a limit switch 16, a reversing mechanism begins to operate so that the conveyor is moved back by a prescribed distance and stopped. Because of the backward movement of the conveyor 2, the work 1 is pushed on the positioning sides 14 of the stoppers 9 by the push spring 6 of the preceding moving member 5 so that the work is accurately positioned. After the positioning, the work is processed. The workman presses a resumption switch to move the conveyor 2 forward again. Although the processed work 1 pushed the detection terminal 17 of the limit switch 16 again, a circuit keeps the reversing mechanism from operating when the limit switch is turned on. |
