PURPOSE:To reduce variation of thickness of a casting piece and pressing force of the casting piece as small as possible, by controlling to function a buffer spring by pressure being below reaction force generated in accordance with width of the casting piece to be cast. CONSTITUTION:An initial roll gap a0 of the upper and lower guide rolls is set so as to be balanced with a target roll gap (x) by internal force of an upper and lower guide roll supporting stand body, which is generated by reaction force corresponding to a shape and a characteristic of a casting piece. A buffer spring provided on the roll stand body is controlled in advance so as to be operated by pressure being below the reaction force from the casting piece. In this way, since the buffer spring is operated by pressure being below the reaction force from the casting piece, even if a variation DELTAa of a set roll gap occurs due to deformation of the guide roll, etc., a variation DELTAx of thickness of the casting piece and a variation DELTAF of internal force of the stand are reduced as small as possible, and both of them become constant. |
