<p>A device for controlling thickness of coatings applied to moving strips of material, comprises a doctor-roller-bar bearing against the coated side of the strip, the bar being mounted in a dimensionally stable, wearresistant doctor-roller-bed which is in turn secured, by a resilient holder, to the frame of the machine. The doctor-roller-bed is secured to the resilient holder in such a manner that it is easily interchangeable, and is a sliding fit in a substantially parallel-walled groove in the holder. An air-hose is fitted between the doctor-roller-bed and the bottom of the substantially parallel-walled groove in the holder. The holder may be in the form of an aluminum section.</p> |
