PURPOSE:To enable to carry out phase modifying and preparatory operation of a multi-stage hydraulic machine for a long time, by connecting a cooling-water reservoir formed in a lower cover of a high-pressure runner and a cover liner having a water supply chamber opened in a seal gap by a pipe, and thereby feeding cooling water to a sealing section between the high-pressure runner and the lower cover. CONSTITUTION:Cooling water is carried through a feed water pipe 31 and supplied to a cooling-water tank 29 in a lower cover 8 of a high-pressure runner 2 via a water supply port 30 in a guide vane 10, and then supplied to a water supply chamber 32 in a liner cover 23 through a connecting pipe 34. Thereafter, the cooling water is supplied via a connecting passage 33 to a seal gap 24 between the high-pressure runner 2 and the lower cover 8. Resultantly, the seal gap 24 is filled with cooling water, so that drag of the runner and resultant damage of the fixed side can be prevented at the time when expansion of the runner is caused. |
