<p>PURPOSE:To treat a waste efficiently, by gasifying coal with air, steam, etc. at a specific temperature, feeding the formed gas, tar, and coke to a melting zone of a waste treating furnace, burning them at a high temperature, and melting the burned solid materials without using an auxiliary fuel. CONSTITUTION:A waste is fed from a hopper 2 to a combustion furnace body 1, and passed through drying, carbonizing, gasifying and combustion steps while lowered and sent to a melting zone of the furnace bottom. On the other hand, coal is fed from a hopper 17 to a gasifying furnace 16 by a feeder 18 and gasified with a gasifying agent consisting of air or oxygen-enriched air and steam at 500 deg.C- the melting temperature of the coal or below. The formed gas containing hydrocarbons, hydrogen and carbon oxides, tar and coke are fed to a waste melting zone of the treating furnace 1 with the formed gas as a transporting medium at a temperature of 500 deg.C or above and burned with air or oxygen- enriched air at a high temperature to melt the solid materials in the melting zone.</p> |
