PURPOSE:To remove dust, moisture, and even combustible components in gas to be discharged by a method in which the gas generated in a blast furnace is cleaned and then discharged to the open air while being burned in such a way that no negative pressure region is produced in the furnace during the end period of blowing operation. CONSTITUTION:The amount of air to be supplied under a low air supplying condition during the end period of blowing operation is finely controlled by means of a branched valve 20 for regulating the amount of air to be suppied from the air blower 18 of an air supply system leading to a blast furnace to each air heating surface 19 and also by a bypass pipe 23 provided with a low-air amount regulating valve 21 and a flow meter 22. In this way, the inside pressure of the furnace is kept normally all the time and dust and moisture present in the gas generated in the furnace are removed by passing the gas through a dust catcher 6 and a Venturi scrubber 7, and then the gas is passed through a branched path 16 and directed to a clean gas discharge tower 13. Since the waste gas contains combustible gas, e.g., CO, etc., the combustible gases are forcibly burned by a combustion means 17 provided at the top of the tower 13, and the gas so cleaned is then discharged to the open air. |
