PURPOSE:To miniaturize an engine and as well to effectively utilize energy by coupling the engine and a motor to drive wheels through clutches, respectively, and by using the engine and the motor in combination as necessary. CONSTITUTION:An engine 1 is cooperatively coupled to a trasnsmission unit 5 through a first clutch 3, while a motor 9 is also coupled to the transmission unit 5 through a second clutch 7. The transmission unit 5 is in turn connected to drive wheels 15 through a suitale transmission member. With this arrangement, the transmission unit 5 may be driven by suitable one or both of the engine 1 and the motor 9 under the selective control of the engagement of the first and second clutches 3, 7. |
