PURPOSE:To protect the recovering of information from the fault of a controller, by adding an auxiliary storage device which is incapable of direct read/write from the controller to a common storage device and periodically storing the information of the common storage device to the auxiliary storage device. CONSTITUTION:A common storage device CMM can perform the read/write through plural controllers CPU via a storage controller CMC. An auxiliary storage device CMB is added to the device CMM, and the device CMB has the same storage capacity as the device CMM and is incapable of the direct read/write to the CPU. The device CMB, however, reads the information to be stored in the device CMM with no intervention of the CPU and with a prescribed cycle and stores it. In case the storing information of the device CMM is destructed by a fault, etc., the device CMB transfers the stored information to the device CMM by a recovery command transmitted from the CPU. |
