PURPOSE:To set the leading and trailing edges of a coil to prescribed positions on a conveyor, by controlling the relation between the speed of a rolled wire rod and the rotation speed of a laying head in case that the wire rod is shaped into a coil by the laying head and is dropped onto the conveyor. CONSTITUTION:A wire rod X passing through an intermediate rolling mill MM and a flying shear CS is supplied to a rotating laying head LH through a finishing rolling mill FM and is worked into a shape like a coil and is dropped onto a conveyor. In this case, the relation of the speed of the wire rod X supplied to the laying head LH and the rotation speed of the laying head LH is controlled by a motor M1 based on a material speed detecting circuit C1 and a motor M4 based on a laying head speed control circuit C7. Simultaneously, the wire rod X for the coil discharged from the laying head is cut properly in the flying shear CS by the control of a motor M2 based on a flying shear speed control circuit C6, and thus, positions of leading and trailing edges of the coil on the conveyor are controlled. |
