A moulding device for shaft rings is proposed in which the cap-shaped mould core has a pivotably movable core segment consisting of a cover section and a wall section connected thereto which, when closed, complete the shaping contour of the mould core and, when in an upwardly pivoted release position, release a cut-out of the cover and core wall. The rest of the mould core bears, close to the limiting edge of the cut-out, one receptacle per step iron with support surface and centring. During the shaping process, the required step iron can be inserted therein and can be held in the desired position. The core segment together with the lower edge of the wall section forms a clamping device which holds the step irons firmly in their closed position from above. After filling and compacting concrete, the core segment is pivoted away inwardly and upwardly and the shaft ring is lifted out upwardly. The shaping of shaft rings is simplified considerably and the exact, reproducible positioning of step irons is ensured. The concrete structure is undisturbed in the region of the step irons and completely tight. The step irons are durably and firmly anchored.
