A safety ski binding is characterised by a jaw for fastening one of the ends of the boot, a pivotable plate, which is arranged below the boot sole and is movable relative to the ski about a vertical axis, and two lateral holding projections which interact with the side edges of the sole to prevent purely lateral displacement, the jaw being connected to the pivotable plate and being arranged so as to be movable relative to the latter in at least two directions.
