PURPOSE:To switch holding force for holding an optical fiber to be slippable, with high accuracy, by providing an adjusting mechanism for adjusting a holding space of plural contact-supporting members for supporting the optical fiber. CONSTITUTION:A stepped cam 12 is rotated by rotating a motor 13, is made to press-contact with tips 9a, 9b through a moving member 9, also a moving base plate pressed by a spring 18 is moved, a space W of contact-supporting members 151-153 vertically provided on a fixed base plate 5 and a moving base plate 4 is switched and adjusted, and between them, an end part 19A of an optical fiber 18A is held so as to be slippable. As a moving base body 3 is moved in the direction as indicated with an arrow X, an end part 20A whose coating has been peeled off, of the optical fiber 18A press-contacts with a space setting tool 16. In a state that the tip of a tip 20 of the other optical fiber 18B press-contacts with the space setting tool 16 and is fixed, the settling tool 16 is shunted, and by discharge between discharge electrodes 17M, 17N, the tips 20A, 20B of the optical fibers are melt-stuck. In this way, holding force of the optical fiber is switched with high accuracy so as to be slippable. |
