PURPOSE:To replace a mandrel efficiently without the crane work, by providing a mandrel receiver, a centering device, and a fixing device on a truck which runs on a rail laid in the lower part of a down coiler. CONSTITUTION:A truck 20 and a coil car 34 are connected through a hook 38 attached on a lifter 36 provided in the car 34. Next, a cylinder 44 for car is operated to run the car 34, and the truck 20 is run to a prescribed position under a mandrel 18 in a down coiler. The mandrel 18 which has the fixed part disengaged already by a mandrel driving device 42 and is prepared for replacement is received on a mandrel receiver 24 by a centering device 26 on the truck 20 and is fixed by a band 28. Next, the mandrel 18 is drawn out from a down coiler frame 40 to a position indicated by two-dot broken lines by the cylinder 44, and the band 28 is removed, and the mandrel is carried by a crane. The assembling work is performed in the reverse order. |
