PURPOSE:To make attaching, detaching and replacing work of a linear motor extremely easy by putting the linear motors fixed to a supporting body freely movably into and out from a containing box having a backward opening in a mold box having a backward opening. CONSTITUTION:Molten metal is passed through the inside of a mold assembled of long and short side walls A, B to a square shape. The outer side of the wall A is constituted of a mold box MB consisting of a vertical copper plate 1 facing the molten metal, upper, lower walls 2, 3 and a stationary rear wall 4 which has an opening. A linear motor box LB of a U shape in cross section which has a backward opening and is constituted of front, upper, lower plate parts 5, 6, 7 is provided therein. A linear motor 8 group and a support plate 9 supporting these overall are fitted therein. The plate 9 is provided with a front plate 10 closing the opening of the non-magnetic box LB and a supporting plate 14 bolted to this. The motor group 8 and the plate 9 are fitted integrally into the boxes MB and LB, and are bolted 18 to the walls 2-4. The plate 1 is cooled by the water passing through slit holes 27. |
