The anti-dazzle headlamp includes a bulb mounted at the centre of a small reflector. This is directed back into the lamp housing and inclined slightly upwards. Light from the bulb and its small reflector strikes one of two parabolic mirror sections. Light leaving the bulb in an upward direction strikes the upper parabolic reflector, whilst light leaving the bulb in a downward direction reflects from the lower parabolic mirror on to the upper mirror before leaving the lamp. This arrangement creates an additional component to the part of the beam which is directed down from the horizontal axis of the lamp beam. The bulb is supported on the side nearest to the front of the lamp housing, behind the lamp cover glass.
|
