The seed-drill comprises a chassis (1) coupled by parallelogram linkage (2) to a tractor (3). A seed distributor (4) is mounted on the chassis, with a hollow share (5) which supports depth gauge wheels (6) and tamping wheels (18). The gauge wheels, which determine the share penetration depth into the ground and the depth at which the seeds are sown, are mounted on the chassis close to the hollow share. Thus, by adjusting the gauge wheel height, an accurate setting is obtainable for the sowing depth. The wheels can be movable up and down, whereas the share is fixed.
