In order to control its rotation speed, the single-phase induction motor with a capacitively coupled auxiliary winding is connected to the alternating current via a triac which is driven via a circuit arrangement consisting of logic semi-conductor modules, in such a manner that the triac can be switched through with the zero crossing of the alternating current, for at least one sine wave in each case, as a function of a triggering signal which is supplied. <IMAGE>
