PURPOSE:To reduce the gear loss by forming on the gear surface a lubricant film whose thickness is more than 0.05mm. and moreover is equal to whichever the thicker, a tip clearance or a back clearance. CONSTITUTION:A film 2 is formed on surfaces of a gear 1, excluding a tooth flank 1a of action, in such a manner that the film thickness becomes Tt at the tip part, Tb at the back face part, and Tr at the bottom part. The film thickness Tt at the tip part and Tr at the bottom part are made smaller than the tip clearance ht-value for the case without the film, while the film thickness Tb at the back part is made smaller than the back clearance hb-value for the case without the film, when the thus formed gear 1 is geared, as the driving side, with a mating gear 3. With these contrivances, tip clearance ht can be reduced to ht'=ht-Tt ht-Tr, while back clearance hb To hb'= hb-Tb. |
