PURPOSE:To widen the frequency band of recordable information signals, by subjecting a recording information signal to FM modulation and dividing this signal into plural signals with phases shifted from one another and supplying these divided signals to magnetic heads having gaps different in azimuth. CONSTITUTION:A video signal is supplied from an input terminal 1 to an FM modulating circuit 2 where the center frequency is frequency 2f0 twice as high as a conventional center frequency f0, and the FM modulation signal output of the circuit 2 is supplied to the second flip-flop circuit 5 through an inverter circuit 4 and is supplied to the second flip-flop circuit 5. In this case, through the output of the circuit 5 is different in phase from the output of the circuit 3 by 90 deg., signals obtained by frequency-diving the FM modulation signal to 1/2 are these outputs of circuits 5 and 3. Square wave signal outputs of circuits 3 and 5 are supplied to magnetic heads 8 and 11 having the first and the second azimuth gaps respectively through series circuits consisting of low pass filters 6 and 9 for conversion to sine wave signals and recording amplifying circuits 7 and 10, and thus, the frequency band of recordable information signals is widened. |
