PURPOSE:To melt and join solid metal and molten metal thoroughly by putting mixed powders of Al and iron oxide in the recess provided on the inside surfaces of a die, disposing the internally chilled solid metal in such a way that part thereof intrudes in the recess, and charging molten metal into the dies. CONSTITUTION:Mixed powders 6 of Al and iron oxide are put in the recess 6 provided in dies 1, and a bolt 5 consisting of an SS material is disposed in such a way that part thereof intrudes in the recess 4. Further, the recess 4 is kept covered with an Al foil 7. Thereafter, if melt of high Cr cast iron contg., for example, 25% Cr is charged into the dies 1 through a sprue 2, the mixed powders 6 cause thermit reaction by the effect of the heat of the molten metal, and th bolt 5 is heated and melted by the heat generated by this, whereby an abrasion resistant liner is obtained. |
