In order to enable travelling trippers to be used both for unstorage operation and storage operation, the belt loop is generally released or reversed. To this end, one of the conventional solutions uses a vibrating support, carrying a deflector cylinder at each of its two ends, which is connected by alternately actuatable lifting devices to the travelling tripper. The object is to develop a travelling tripper with vibrating support in such a manner that the conversion of the belt loop can take place with optimum operational reliability and speed, the belt losses occurring being as low as possible and the belt tension forces loading the support system only for a relatively short time. According to the invention, the spindles of the deflector cylinders (8; 9) of the vibrating support (7) are guided in two opposite pairs of cranks (12, 13), arranged on the frame of the travelling tripper, and two additional deflector cylinders (16, 17) are each arranged to be invariable as to height, or one deflector cylinder (16), which is active during unstorage, is invariable as to height and the other deflector drum (17) is variable as to height. <IMAGE>
