The probe for measuring oxygen partial pressures in highly aggresive melts is one half-cell of a high-temperature solid-state measuring chain (the other half-cell is the medium to be measured, including a rare metal electrode) and consists of a tube of an oxide-type solid-state electrolyte. To prevent dissolution of the probe during the highly corrosive operation, it is connected, according to the invention, to an extension which serves as a contact element and dips, in place of the actual probe, into the aggresive medium.
