The invention is used for secondary noise reduction in eccentric presses. The covering element according to the invention can be used, for noise reduction on machines, in the form of walls close to the machines. A further possibility for use is the encapsulation of any noise sources in the form of a separate noise-protection capsule. It is the aim of the invention to reduce the mass, the volume and the manufacturing outlay of a covering element with effective secondary noise reduction on machines. The object of the invention is to produce a covering element for secondary noise reduction on machines, with high sound-absorbing properties in a wide frequency range, using filling materials with low area weight and minimum packing thickness. According to the invention, the object is achieved in that a fine metal sheet is arranged at a distance from the metal sheet plate and so as to be insulated against structure-borne noise with a gap to the edge reinforcements. <IMAGE>
