Arrangement for feeding lubricant to crankshaft bearings

In an arrangement for feeding lubricant to the crankshaft bearings of a multi-cylinder reciprocating piston engine, a lubricant duct running essentially parallel to the axis of the crankshaft is provided in a cylinder block, which duct is connected to the bearing bores assigned to the crankshaft bearings in that bores for securing screws of bearing caps assigned to the bearings are provided, which bores intersect the main lubricant duct. The securing screw bores are then connected to the bearing bore by way of recesses arranged in the bearing part joint or also by relatively short bores made obliquely in the bearing block or in the bearing cap. In making the main lubricant duct by casting, it is proposed that this duct be of conical design and that the wall intersecting the securing screw bores then run essentially parallel and possibly flat to a line joining the axes of the securing screw bores. <IMAGE>
