The invention relates to a device which is intended for extracting the dust which accumulates when cutting up natural-stone or cast-stone slabs with an angle grinding machine and which contains a protective hood which partly encloses the cut-off wheel and is provided with an extraction connection stub. On the housing of the angle grinding machine (1, 2) there is fitted an extraction ventilator (6) which is provided with a dust sack (27) and is driven by a drive belt which is guided, on the one hand, via a cable roller (9) seated on the shaft of the ventilator (6) and, on the other hand, via a pulley (15) which is connected, such that it is fixed in terms of rotation, to the shaft emerging from the housing of the grinding machine. The extraction connection stub of the protective hood (21) partly enclosing the cut-off wheel is connected to the extraction connection stub (10) of the extraction ventilator (6) via a flexible line (26). The extraction ventilator (6) is preferably connected, via a web, to a clamping ring (14) which can be fitted on the cylindrical attachment (4) which encloses the outlet end of the shaft (3) of the grinding machine; the protective hood (21) is thus preferably releasably fastened on the web of the ventilator. <IMAGE>
