PURPOSE:To improve controllability and safety of a device, by constituting the device in such a manner that its setting at constant speed is released when any one of the operations, depressing operation of brake and clutch pedals and rapidly accelerating operation of an accelerator pedal, is detected at constant speed running operation of an automobile. CONSTITUTION:At constant speed running operation, brake and clutch pedals are firstly released further an accelerator pedal is lightly depressed to operate a constant speed running setter 62 under a closed condition of release switches 67-69 for brake and clutch operations. Then contacts 65, 66 are closed by self holding relay 63, and a constant speed running set signal IS14 is input to an arithmetic unit 27. The arithmetic unit 27 compares a car speed signal IS5 with a target car speed signal IS13 to output a control signal OS4 of fuel injection quantity so that the both car speed signals may be aligned, and an injection pump 7 is controlled through a servo circuit 18 to hold car speed to a target level. Under this state of running at constant speed, if one of the switches 67- 69 is opened, control of running at constant speed is released. |
