PURPOSE:To improve the durability, handling property, safety, etc. of a cooler for a valve, by providing a cooling air chamber in the valve, connecting a cooling air feeder to the chamber and using air as a coolant. CONSTITUTION:A vlave spindle 1 is fitted in a valve casing 2 mounted on a cylinder cover 3. The valve spindle 1 is moved up and down by a lift L together with a member 4 and a spring bearer 5 along the upper guide part 6 of the valve casing 2. A cooling air chamber 9 is provided in the upper part of the valve casing 2. A cooling air passage 7 is provided in the central part of the valve spindle 1. A cooling air chamber 14, which communicates with the passage 7, is provided in the central part A of a valve cone. External air is introduced into the cooling air chamber 9 through a check valve 8 by the vertical motion of the valve spindle 1 or cooling air from a feeder is introduced into the chamber 9 through a check valve 11. During the descent of the valve spindle 1, the introduced air is compressed by the spring bearer 5 functioning also as a piston and is conducted into the cooling air chamber 14 through a passage inlet port 10 and the passage 7 to cool the valve spindle. |
