For liquid wave energy absorbers, it is proposed that confining surfaces be placed adjacent the absorber, optionally secured to the absorber, in such manner that the band width of the dependency of the energy absorption on the wave frequency obtains at least one new maximum at a frequency determined by the placement of the confining surface. The principle is explained in connection with a wave energy power plant which operates according to the oscillating water column principle and which is made as a concrete structure with a submersed opening 7.
