PURPOSE:To provide a printer that issues alarm for the purpose of avoiding misprints, when either one of means to detect whether or not the printing head is positioned at a specified position and means to detect whether or not the paper is positioned at a specified position is not issuing signal of existence. CONSTITUTION:A micro-switch 6 is provided at almost the same level as the printing head side 3 of a platen 2 to detect whether or not the printing head 3 is at a specified position. On the other hand a means 7 to sense a medium 1 on the route of the medium 1 is provided to sense whether or not the medium is set. When either of the micro-switch 6 or the means 7 is not issuing the signal of existence at the specified position, an alarm is sounded in order to avoid data loss. |
