PURPOSE:To detect the variance of the thickness of a spinning sliver group without contacting with a good response and a high reliability, by using a photodetector consisting of many optical fiber elements to detect the variance of the quantity of the light trnsmitted through the spinning sliver group in the drawing frame of the spinning process. CONSTITUTION:In the drawing frame of the spinning process, the variance of the thickness of spinning slivers is detected near back rollers 1 of a draft zone A for the purpose of controlling the variance of the thickness of them. Photoelectric detecting heads B and B' consisting of a pair of a projector and a photodetector are arranged near the place where a parallel sliver group S consisting of a plural slivers is supplied to the draft zone. The photodetector consists of many optical fibers which have tips arranged in one or more lines, and their condensed terminals are connected to a photoelectric sensor. The width of detecting heads is approximately equal to that of the sliver group. On a basis of the fluctuating voltage output of the photoelectric sensor, the variation of the density of fibers per unit area of the sliver group is detected. |
