PURPOSE:To stabilize an Se-As photoreceptor by a simple means by subjecting the receptor to corona discharge while irradiating light to increase the receptive potential and dark resistance of the receptor. CONSTITUTION:A photoconductive layer contg. 0.5-40wt% As is formed on an electrically conductive support by vapor-depositing Se-As. The resulting Se-As photoreceptor is subjected to corona discharge treatment by applying a negative DC voltage while irradiating light having about 100-5,000 luxes and about 350-750nm wavelengths. The intensity of the discharge current is about 7- 70muA, and the treatment time is >=about 10min. The treatment can be easily performed by practically attaching the receptor after vapor-depositing Se-As to an electrophotographic copier and by repeating a dead cycle. |
