An ion which forms a complex with the complex forming substance is added to the water to complex all the complex forming substance. A pptn. agent is also added to cause flocculation. Pref. 35-150 g/l of the ion is added to the water. It comprises Ca(2+), Cu(2+) and/or Mg(2+). The pptn. medium is a metal salt, e.g., FeSO4, Fe2(SO4)3, FeCl3, Al2(SO4)3 and/or an aluminium hydroxide complex of the chloride or sulphate type. |
