<p>The rotary screen unit, such as may be used for sifting e.g. domestic refuse, comprises a stationary drum with perforated wall (9) and scrapers (10) which rotate (19) about the (horizontal) drum axis. The drum has a frusto-conical lower portion (16), which is curved parallel to the paths described by the radially outer ends of the scrapers, and an upper portion (17) which extends radially away from the scrapers. This upper portion extends over at least part of the upper half of the scraper path arc, pref. around 120 deg. thereof. This portion has a continuous transition into the remainder of the drum wall at least on the downstream side (at 20). FL.</p> |
