PURPOSE:To improve luminance by providing multiple electron guns within the same vacuum tube and simultaneously scanning in parallel with multiple electron beams aligned in a vertical direction apart each other with a predetermined distance. CONSTITUTION:Electron guns 1, 2, are arranged in a vertical direction within the neck section of a CRT, and two electron beam spots separated each other at a predetermined distance in a vertical direction are simultaneously scanned in parallel horizontal on a phosphor screen by the same deflection unit. Meanwhile, video signals sent from a terminal 6 are fed to a memory 7 or 8 which can store video signals per one field by switching with a switch 3 at a field frequency. Also, the electron gun 1 is fed with the video signals from the terminal 6, and the electron gun 2 is fed with the video signals that is only by one field by switching with switches 4, 5 at a field frequency. Further, the same action is repeated in the next field with the electron guns 1, 2 taking turns alone. Thus, the luminance can be doubled. |
